25-year-old student of the University of Ghana, Ms Pearl Nyarko-Mensah has been crowned as Miss Malaika 2017 after putting up a brilliant performance and beating her 9 other contenders.
The Miss Malaika pageant grande finale took place on Saturday night after 12 weeks of drama, thrills and more on national television. Pundits have described the show as one of the best so far with an epic showcase of beauty, talent and intelligence by all performers.
Hosted by Malaika alums, TV/Radio Host Berla Mundi and Annita, the show saw fabulous celebrities including John Dumelo, Becca, Chris Attoh and Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku serve on the panel as judges.
If you’ve followed this year’s pageant from the beginning, you know this year’s line-up of girls was just straight-up cutthroat. Han, Eleanor, Keila, Val, Johan, Sheila, Abby, Helen, Vanessa and Pearl did not disappoint with Vanessa and Helen emerging as first and second runner-up, respectively. Kudos ladies, what a night!

Newly crowned Pearl, who goes down in history as the oldest queen so far since the inception of the reality show, succeeds last year’s winner, Leah Brown who just returned from Tirana, Albania after participating in this year’s Miss Globe pageant.
