President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has presented his maiden State of the Nation Address in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana which states that; “The President shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before a dissolution of Parliament, deliver a message on the state of the nation”.

The event which took place at the Parliament house was attended by members of his government, the opposition, head of the judiciary, parliamentarians, diplomatic corps, traditional leaders, press and heads of security agencies.

Today’s State of the Nation Address was not only about the economy, politics, policies, the presidential jabs and heckling from the opposition, it was also an opportune time to showcase Ghanaian  culture through the traditional music and dance that were performed at both the forecourt and inside parameters of the legislative building.

Fashion, another form of art, storytelling and a distinct part of both modern and traditional culture was showcased. From the president who was sharp in a charcoal black suit and his signature round glasses to the First Lady,  Rebecca Akufo-Addo who glowed in a kaleidoscopic kente number for the occasion.

Aside the first couple some of the best dressed guest include the delectable Samira Bawumia, the ever-radiant Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Anthony Karbo, Former President Rawlings and Adjoa Sarfo.
