This is Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He’s the President of Ghana.
He is also a lawyer, businessman, activist who was sworn into office on the 7th of January 2017 after beating his fiercest contender, Former President John Dramani Mahama in the general elections which took place last year.
Since H.E Akufo-Addo took over as a president of this country, he has taken a liking to wearing African prints shirts also known as Ntoma.
This is in sharp contrast to his conservative British suit style with a white handkerchief usually tucked into his sleeves and have grown on Ghanaians.
In the spirit of change and patriotism, Mr President is leading by example with his ostentatious and crisp African prints shirts which are produced right here in Ghana. He’s been spotted at several public functions, durbars and even meetings with foreign dignitaries in his office wearing the wax textiles which is dear to the hearts of Ghanaians as a whole.
He usually styles the numerous long sleeves shirts with tailored pants of different colours and patterns leaving both his admirers and haters dazed. Like the fashionista and style aficionado, he has always been, he wears a silver watch and a brooch in the form of the Coat of Arms to the attire.
As the first Gentleman of the land, we hope his acquired taste for Ntoma and other indigenous fabrics will be copied thoroughly by Ghanaian men.
Here are a couple of photos we’ve collected of His Excellency the President in African prints that should inspire you to look dapper.
