Kobby Asihene and Kukua Asante had been childhood friends for as long as they could remember but little they know that such a young seed of friendship would one day grow to become the strong oak tree of love which will lead them to the Altar to say I do.
Our wedding of the week was shot by Ghanaian wedding photographer, P.K Hazel in Accra who described the pair as an amazing duo who enjoyed each other’s company and were fun to be with.
Kobby according to this Instagram bio is a junior pastor at the Next Generation Church of the Victory Bible Church whiles Kukua is a professional architect who recently acquired a master’s degree in that field.
Both of them have their personal inspirational and Christian blogs where they muse on life, Christianity and so much more. Kobby writes at kobbysays.blogspot.co.uk and Kukua also writes HERE (Great reads by all standards too).
The preparation for the ceremony started with what has come to be the norm for weddings these days, the pre-wedding shots and from the photos, you could see how their friendship has grown over the past years. The first photos have them in casual clothes as they take a ride on a bicycle, others of them by a lake are also part of the shots and all this while Pastor Kobby can’t simply take his eyes off the bride-to-be.
“Only few people know what it means to really love somebody. Every moment with you is a reminder of what it truly means to love. You’ve done it all. My future looks so good with you baby @kobbysays” Kukua said in a Facebook post.
In Ghana, traditional weddings are very important because they serve as proof that both families have agreed to the marriage. The groom’s side is ready to follow their son to come fetch his bride and the bride’s family is ready to send their daughter bride away into a new family. Clad in exquisite rich Kente attires, the two are traditionally announced as man and wife, Kukua stuns in a beaded fringe Kente dress and Kobby in a white Kaftan with Kente trimmings
Engagement Reception Outfit
As usual, the pomp and pageantry are with the white wedding and the couple as well as their various teams didn’t disappoint at all. Team Kobby were in Blue and blush pink bow-ties and pocket squares with their leader in a white tuxedo. Team Kuks, on the other hand, adorned themselves in blush pink off-shoulder bridesmaid dress and their team leader in all-white sweetheart neckline gown. You have to see the gorgeousness of the outfits for yourselves
