As the curtains draw down successfully on the year and we look forward to a new year, we can’t help but cast our minds back to some of the Celebrity weddings that highlighted the year.

These celebrity weddings flooded our timelines with hashtags, viral videos and photos during the ceremony, keeping fans, bloggers and the so called “haters” updated minute by minute as to what was happening at the event grounds.

Despite a few lot, trying to hide the news of their wedding, (Stonebwoy we are talking to you), the internet managed to get vital information on the event.

From Presidents to musicians to designers, models and many more, here is a list of celebrities and their spouses who tied the knot in the company of family, friends, business acquaintances and other guests.

1.  Stonebwoy and Dr. Mrs Louisa Satekla

Award-winning Dancehall superstar and Bhim Nation president, Stonebwoy and his girlfriend, Dr Louisa Kwakye Ansong, a dentist at the 37-military hospital  said “I do” on June 16, 2017 at the Unique Floral event centre. The wedding sent shock waves all over the internet as they coupled hid news of the event until an invitation was leaked by anonymous personality on the internet. In attendance were former Black Stars caption Stephen Appiah, Emmanuel Adebayor, Becca, Abraham Attah, Trigmatic, Kofi Kinata and Lil Win.

2.  Banky Wellington and Adesua Etomi


After thrilling the world with their super love-story in February, On and Off screen love birds, Musician/Actor Banky Wellington and Actress, Adesua Etomi had the wedding of their dreams in Cape Town with the hashtag #BAAD17 breaking down the internet. With a star-studded bridal party which included Capt Demuren, Ebuka, Linda Ejiofor and many others, their wedding will definitely go down as the Wedding of the year.

3. Akosua Vee and A-plus

Controversial musician and comedian, A-Plus and stylist, Akosua Vee first had their larger-than-life traditional wedding in March this year and followed it up with a wedding in September attracting scores of high-profile guests to both events. However, the white wedding was without controversy as netizens lampooned Akosua for picking a ball gown which didn’t suit her figure during the ceremony.

4. Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanaian

Tennis superstar, Serena Williams and Reddit Co-founder gave everyone interracial wedding goals after they had a super luxurious wedding in November 2017. With the bride wearing a customized Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown and not forgetting the bouquet of white roses she carried and wearing a cool $3.5 million-worth of XIV Karats jewelry. It was attended by A-listers including Jay-Z and Beyonce, Anna Wintour, her sister Venus and their baby daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.


5. Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’ior

Gucci Mane and his Keyshia Ka’ior lavished $1.7 million on their wedding which premiered on BET amidst a bevy of activities. Let’s not forget he ordered for a 75 k cake and gifted Keyshia with a Rolls Royce. Guests included Sean “Diddy” Combs, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak-Biermann, Karrueche Tran, Lil Yachty, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Monica, Big Sean and Jhene Aiko.

The bride who worked as a style consultant won applauds for her unconventional wedding style which was created by She By Bena. The couple are currently parents as the pair added a new member to their young family this December.

The bride who is the couturier of several Ghanaian stars including Becca, Berla Mundi, Selly Ghalley and Zynell Zuh wore a spectacular floral gown to marry the man of her dreams. This wedding is fiercely contesting for Ghana’s wedding of the year and we are rooting for it.
